Barn Sessions – Cozy Group Pottery Workshops in Mahone Bay

Barn Sessions are private group pottery workshops designed for those who want to slow down, get their hands in clay, and make something meaningful together — hosted in my cozy barn studio on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

These sessions take place in a lovingly restored barn that’s over 150 years old. With its rustic charm, warm atmosphere, and quiet setting, the studio is a welcoming space to gather, create, and enjoy time together away from the rush of everyday life.

The studio is located right in the heart of Mahone Bay, making it easy to turn your session into a full-day experience. Before or after your time in the barn, you can stroll to some of the town’s best restaurants, brewery, coffee shops, and local boutiques — all just a short walk away.

Perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, friend gatherings, team-building events, and more. Barn Sessions are relaxed, personal, and open to all skill levels.

What to Expect

During your private Barn Session, each participant will receive 1 lb of stoneware clay to handbuild a piece of their choice. Whether you create a mug, bowl, vase, sugar jar, or something entirely your own, I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process.

No experience is necessary — just come ready to experiment, get a little messy, and enjoy the creative process together. The focus is on connection and creativity as much as the finished piece.

Participants also have the option to personalize their work by hand-painting details before firing, adding clay cut-outs, texture, or their own unique designs if they wish. This extra layer of creativity allows each piece to truly reflect your individual style.

After the session:

I carefully dry, fire, and glaze each piece in my studio

Participants choose from a curated selection of my signature glazes

Finished pieces are kiln-fired and ready for pickup in 4-6 weeks

Each piece is food-safe and made to be used and loved

Pricing & Group Size

$70 per person + HST
Barn Sessions are designed for small groups and are booked as private experiences for a minimum of 4 participants.
